embracing, how inclusive and how poignant the arts have been and continue to be. We believe that the arts change lives. We believe that the arts can save lives and the more fiercely independent the art is, the more life-changing it can be. Independent films, so often great labors of love that a filmmaker has literally willed into existence, deserve to be championed and seen just as much as the latest Hollywood tentpole, perhaps more so. We make films that we hope demand to be seen, films that can find champions, films that can find a home among a wider audience and, when they do so, to entertain, to inspire, to unnerve and to make those audiences think, at least for a moment, about the nature of what it means to be human, about why they believe what they believe.
